Welcome, MD Class of 2019

While July is typically the start of summer vacation, here at the Cumming School of Medicine (CSM) it’s the start of medical school. Last week, 155 new students were welcomed to the CSM as they began their journey to become doctors.

Students were welcomed to a number of information sessions and tours and the traditional ‘O-Week’ activities will commence in August. During O-Week students have the opportunity to participate in a number of fun activities such as the amazing race, the rural medicine BBQ and an all-time favorite – the med Olympics. And as per tradition, the class of 2019 will receive their official ‘animal’ name at the August 5th naming ceremony.

The University of Calgary is one of two three year medical school programs in Canada.
