Overview:
The Department of Family Medicine has an exciting Med Zero planned, and we're so glad we're able to see the incoming class in person! This years line up of activities includes:
- Panel discussion with expert Alberta generalists
- Hands on training in Naloxone administration, BVM and suturing (see videos and resources below it get a head start!)
- A fun scavenger hunt!
Lunch will be provided, along with a great t-shirt and goody bag!

Key take aways:
- Enter at 90°
- Two throws for the first knot, one throw for the subsequent knots
- Place the needle driver in BETWEEN the two strings before creating loops (students sometimes place it behind)
- When tying down the knots, alternate where the short/long end gets pulled towards
- Consider palming the needle driver rather than having fingers inside the holes
