The Planetary Health Working Group brings together members of the DOM who are passionate about protecting the health of people and the planet. The group meets every 1–2 months to expand shared knowledge, discuss emerging issues in planetary health, and collaborate on opportunities for education, research, quality improvement, and sustainable clinical operations.
Our goals include:
- Advancing awareness of how environmental change impacts patient and population health.
- Sharing learnings and best practices from across divisions, programs, and clinical settings.
- Identifying and planning actionable initiatives that reduce the environmental footprint of healthcare and promote equitable, sustainable systems.
- Building a community of practice for faculty, staff, and learners interested in planetary health.
Participation is open to anyone in the Department of Medicine who would like to contribute or learn more.
