ACADEMIC
- Before gaining access, new investigators/users must contact us to help us better understand previous microscopy experience and research/imaging goals.
- After discussing the above, trials, trainings, and/or imaging sessions will be scheduled.
- Following trial/training/imaging, investigators must sign and return the HBIAMP service agreement and users must fill out this training/orientation form.
- Once above is completed, users will be able to book through the FACES scheduling system.
INDUSTRY

REMOTE ACCESS
Approved users can access our workstations, high throughput systems, and satellite licenses remotely. See Remote Access.
Due to the support of the Hotchkiss Brain Institute, Brain Canada, Canadian Foundation for Innovation, and Cumming Medical Research Fund, academic fees and annual tiers can remain relatively low compared to the operational costs of the facility. This is a deliberate strategy to promote research and use of the facility. The breakdown can be seen below.
Microscopy and Image Analysis
QUARTERLY INVOICES - payment due within 30 days of receipt.
ACADEMIC
- MICROSCOPY hourly fees are first tiered at $5,000.00/year. Above this, hourly fees become half the rate until a second tier is reached at $9,500.00/year.
- IMAGE ANALYSIS hourly/yearly fees are first tiered at $2,500.00/year. Above this, fees become half the rate until a second tier is reached at $5,000.00/year.
- Annual tiers do NOT include Training fees, Fee-for-service, No-show fines and corresponding hourly fees for unused time, or other fees.
INDUSTRY
- Industry fees are not tiered.
