Practice Charting in CC

Charting guidelines are intended for use by Diabetes Centre Calgary clinicians. This page is in development - ongoing updates are being made.

For a video demonstration to get you started with your practice charting, see this link. In the PLY environment, the server is re-set to the defaults every night. Changes that you make to any of the patients, or to log in profiles do not carry over from one day to the next.

Logging In to the Play Environment

  • Double-click on the teal colored CC icon on your desktop. Underneath the icon is the label 'PLY'.
  • When the log in screen loads, use one of the following profiles (password is train in all cases)
    • Nurses: Nurse01, Nurse 02, etc (note that Nurse12 has scheduled patients)
    • Dietitians: Diet01, Diet02, etc (most dietitian profiles have scheduled patients)
    • Physician: NurseMD01, NurseMD02, etc (most physician profiles have scheduled patients)
    • Front Desk Staff: AmbDesk01, AmbDesk02, etc
  • Select an appropriate department.
    • Dietitians log in to the 'Edmonton Zone Nutrition Services' department.
    • Others log in to one of the diabetes departments. Type diabetes in the search bar, and press <Enter>. Select the desired diabetes department.

Looking at a Schedule

Click on the 'Schedule' icon in the green bar at the top.

If you want to practice looking at a schedule, be sure to log in as one of the profiles that does have scheduled patients (as noted above).

Selecting a Patient

You might want to select one of the following patients to practice with:

  • Nadir-Nurse: has type 2 diabetes
  • Oyin-Nurse: pregnant
