Undergraduate Clerkship Availability

The Distributed Learning & Rural Initiatives (DLRI) office is now gathering “pre-set” preceptor availability for Clerkship Electives for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Clerkship Electives are two weeks in length and are a vital part of medical education. These electives provide students with valuable one-on-one learning experiences while helping spark continued interest in rural and regional medicine. Honoraria is provided for Clerkship Electives at a rate of $325 per elective week.

DLRI is aligning with the new UME process and follows the timelines and protocols outlined by the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC) Portal.

We are requesting that preceptors share their anticipated availability in advance through this web form. While we understand that confirming availability ahead of time can be challenging, the new process requires elective availability to be submitted in advance to showcase learning opportunities across the province. You will be contacted with confirmation once a learner is assigned to you.
