Karen Shariff

Karen currently works for the Critical Care Strategic Clinical Network.  She has recently transitioned to this role from a career working as a registered nurse in the intensive care unit (ICU).  She has spent a number of years working on an ICU Outreach team, and most recently worked as a clinical nurse educator in the ICU and coronary care unit.  She obtained her Masters of Nursing at the University of Calgary, with a focus on advance care planning as it relates to decision making prior to an ICU admission.  Her interest and work now focuses on reducing low-value care practices within critical care across the province.
