Biography

Rebecca is a Research Associate in the Department of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Calgary.  She holds a Bachelor's of Arts Honors degree in Psychology from University of Victoria and a Master's degree in Applied Psychology (specialization in Gerontology) from the University of Waterloo. With several years previous research experience in medical education, Rebecca joined Dr. Stelfox's team in 2014 to work on his PRIHS funded Evidence Care Gap study.  She currently coordinates the ICU-to-Ward Transfer of Care study, a randomized stepped wedge trial to implement an electronic tool to improve documentation of ICU medical transfer and discharge summaries. Rebecca is also involved in the INFORM study, working with a team of healthcare professionals and patient advisors to design and test a new  patient-oriented discharge summary. With broad research interests in health services and education, Rebecca enjoys the opportunities her position presents to explore innovative solutions to important and complex research priorities.
