Academic Research Day 2019

The Department of Critical Care Medicine 2nd Annual Academic Research Day took place on May 29, 2019. It was a day to share the research and innovation being conducted by trainees and faculty members across the department.

Dr. Kirsten Fiest kicked off the day with a compelling message:

"Research and innovation are the building blocks for advances in healthcare, aiming to improve quality of care and patient outcomes. Questions asked and answered in the laboratory and bedside have continuously informed the practice of medicine and health policy. The research conducted in our Department and beyond helps healthcare professionals provide the best care to patients, families, and society."

Dr. Laurent Bouchard, an internationally recognized leader in Critical Care Medicine opened the day by sharing key lessons on "Bedside physiology to adjust mechanical ventilation".

The day was filled with excellent talks which included research in basic sciences, health services, case studies and clinical studies.
