Linden Penner MSc
Research Coordinator
BNR Lab
Linden is a clinical research coordinator for the RACE concussion study: Rapid, accurate cost-effective assessment of fluid biomarkers using a hand-held biosensor in patients with concussion. He obtained his undergraduate degree in biological sciences at the University of Calgary prior to graduating with his MSc in Kinesiology studying the effects of exercise on blood biomarkers commonly associated with sport-related concussion. Depending on the season, Linden uses his free time to participate in and coach a variety of sports. In the winter he enjoys snowboarding at Lake Louise and coaching youth sledge hockey. In the summer he plays as much golf as possible and teaches adapted cycling to youth in the Calgary area.
As a former Western Hockey League athlete, Linden's personal experience with concussion drives his passion for researching objective blood biomarkers of injury to ultimately reduce the burden of concussion in sport populations and beyond.
