Student Opportunities

We are currently accepting applications for post-doctoral, graduate student (PhD and MSc), as well as undergraduate opportunities (summer research or Honour’s thesis projects). We are also accepting applications for visiting scholars (both PhD and MD) to complete exchange programs with our lab.

We are always looking for highly motivated individuals who are interested in EEG, functional MRI, and CT imaging and the application of these methodologies towards a better understanding of epilepsy. We welcome individuals with a broad spectrum of backgrounds including neuroscience, biomedical engineering, and psychology, and encourage anyone with an interest in epilepsy and neuroimaging to apply.

Our program works closely with the Hotchkiss Brain Institute and the Seaman Family MR Research Centre where we can access a 3T MRI scanner as well as a collaborative workspace alongside other researchers who study aging, stroke, cancer, adult and child mental health, movement disorders, and traumatic brain injury.

The lab is located in the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Calgary is a vibrant city, with a burgeoning arts and cultural scene. Calgary is also conveniently located only an hour away from the Rocky Mountains, Banff, and Lake Louise. As a result, we are only a stone’s throw from fantastic hiking, camping, and mountain biking in the summer as well as world class ski/snowboard destinations in the winter.
