Dr. Jacquie Baker

Jacquie is a Postdoctoral Fellow with a research focus on cardiovascular autonomic disorders. Her current research integrates pre-clinical and clinical research approaches to investigate the underlying pathophysiology of cardiovascular autonomic disorders and to test novel therapies with the overarching goal to improve cardiovascular health.

Shaun Ranada

Shaun's research focuses on understanding the pathophysiological mechanisms and exploring novel treatment strategies for autonomic disorders, particularly POTS. Specifically, he is investigating how elevated arterial carbon dioxide levels influence cardiovascular and cerebral hemodynamics to identify potential therapeutic applications.

Extreme sports are Shaun's passion - back-country snowboarding, cliff diving in the tropics, and bungee jumping off bridges are his go-to adventures.

Rashmin Hira

Rashmin's research interests are autonomic dysfunction in Long-COVID, the prevalence of autonomic disorders in Long-COVID (such as POTS), salt as a non-pharmacological intervention for Long-COVID/POTS patients, and characterizing the quality-of-life of Long-COVID/POTS patients.

When Rashmin's not in the lab, you can find her at home with her cat, J Coal!

Kavithra Karalasingham

Kavithra's research interests are largely understanding the pathophysiology of specific POTS symptoms and the effect of these symptoms on patients' quality of life.

When she is not in the lab, Kavithra likes to wind down by reading psychological thrillers and trying out new food places with friends!
