The Pillai Lab
Our research groups focuses on translational studies and novel diagnostic strategies for infectious pathogens including SARS-CoV-2, malaria, dengue, and C. difficile.
What Do We Work On?
The laboratory uses a combination of molecular, genomic, and proteomic approaches to understand the pathogenesis of infectious agents such as Plasmodium falciparum malaria, C. difficile, dengue, SARS-CoV-2, development of new diagnostic tools, and elucidate mechanisms of drug resistance. These studies are combined with clinical and epidemiological data to contextualize in human disease and translate findings to patients.
