About the Department

The Members of the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Infectious Diseases are a group of highly dedicated scientists and clinicians who make cutting edge discoveries and educate the next generation to respond to some of the world’s biggest problems. The department operates within a multidisciplinary environment that provides collaborative opportunities among basic and clinician scientists in the Snyder Institute for Chronic Diseases, as well as the Southern Alberta Cancer Research Institute, Institute for Public Health, and the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute.

The Department is “A community of microbiologists and immunologists working together to improve health by making discoveries in host-microbe interactions, engaging society, and training exceptional scientists and clinicians”
