Research Activities

An understanding of the molecular mechanisms for the onset and maintenance of human labour would lead to improvements in both the management of preterm labour and post-maturity. Prostaglandins and their receptors have long been implicated in the process of parturition and our research has focused on the role, regulation and crosstalk of the prostaglandin pathway and inflammatory mediators within the uterus during pregnancy.
