As one of the four basic science departments within the Cumming School of Medicine (CSM), the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology contributes extensively to the education and training of undergraduate students, postgraduate students, postdoctoral fellows (PDFs) and medical students. We are a research-driven department with most of our faculty being heavily engaged in research supervision, including laboratory-based teaching/training, of students (undergraduate/postgraduate), PDFs and other trainees. However, most members of the Department also contribute to one or more of the formal teaching programmes within the CSM and University. To assist students and trainees in finding relevant information, a brief overview of the main teaching activities that are provided by the Department can be found below. Further information on educational programmes within the CSM can also be found at https://cumming.ucalgary.ca/education.
