We are looking for motivated students who wish to pursue a PhD or MSc in the area of Immunology, Cell or Molecular Biology and Precision Medicine as it pertains to kidney diseases. Positions for post-doctoral fellows are also available. Trainees will join a dynamic and exciting research team who are part of the Nephrology Research Group and the Precision Medicine in Nephrology Program at the Snyder Institute for Chronic Diseases, Cumming School of Medicine.
Students will be trained and acquire skills in:
Immunology
Cell Biology
Microscopy including intravital, confocal and super-resolution
Stem Cell and Organoid Culture
Experimental models of disease
Single-cell and bulk RNA Seq
Bio-informatics
Biobanking
Translational research and Precision medicine.
In addition to the outstanding research opportunities available in this setting, students also enjoy the vibrant city of Calgary with many cultural and sporting amenities and can take advantage of the unparalleled outdoor activities possibilities (ski, mountain bike, hiking, etc.) in the Rocky Mountains located less than an hour away.
