Meet Dr. Tammie Dewan

My research uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods to investigate and improve health services delivery to children with medical complexity. I am particularly interested in incorporating child/youth/family input, expertise and experiences into the design and evaluation of interventions directed to improving inpatient care for CMC.

Specifically, my work is directed to:

  • Describing patient and family experiences of care into the design and evaluation of inpatient interventions and care delivery models.

  • Integrating patient-reported outcome and experience measures into the evaluation of care delivery

  • Engaging in patient/family partnership and co-design to develop interventions that are tailored to CMC and patient and family centred

  • Generating evidence to guide management of common clinical conditions in CMC such as gastroesophageal reflux disease and feeding difficulties
