Who we are

We are a team of physicians, nurses, researchers, trainees and students who are dedicated to improving care and outcomes for children with medical complexity and their families.

Children with medical complexity (CMC) are a diverse group of kids with chronic diseases who share a high need for healthcare services and care in the home/community. They often have developmental disabilities and/or require medical technologies at home. CMC, along with their families and caregivers, require dedicated supports to achieve their best quality of life, participation and health outcomes.

Our team is focused on identifying key issues and experiences that are most important to children and families, particularly related to the setting of inpatient care, and designing systems and interventions to tackle these issues. We are also investigating treatment and outcomes for conditions that are common in CMC such as gastroesophageal reflux and feeding issues.
