Xi-Long Zheng

Dr. Zheng's laboratory mainly focuses on the mechanisms underlying differentiation, proliferation, and aging of vascular smooth muscle cells in vitro and in vivo and their roles in the development of vascular aging and cardiovascular disease. The laboratory has made advances in the field of regulation of smooth muscle differentiation and the cell cycle. Dr. Zheng has published more than 150 peer-reviewed articles since 2001, many of which appear in highly-ranked journals, including Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology, Diabetologia, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Hypertension.
