Our Programs
Explore the range of specialized services we offer to support your pain management journey.
The Neuromusculoskeletal (NMSK) service at the Chronic Pain Centre helps people with problems in the parts of the body that let us move. These parts include the spine, muscles, joints, nerves, and nearby tissues. Examples of these problems are osteoarthritis, neck pain, low back pain, and nerve pain like painful diabetic neuropathy. Many times, more than one thing causes the pain, so it is important to look at the whole person — their body, thoughts, and daily life — to understand what is going on.

Our Headache Program focuses on two types of headaches:
- Post-traumatic headache: This can happen after a concussion, which is a mild brain injury.
- Cervicogenic headache: These headaches start in the neck and can be caused by injuries like whiplash.
Our team will work with you to find the cause of your headaches and create a treatment plan. This plan may include medicine, injections, ways to manage stress and thoughts, and exercises to help your body move and feel better.
We also help with other problems that can come with headaches, such as feeling very tired, trouble thinking clearly, poor sleep, and changes in mood.

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is a complex condition that usually affects the hands or feet. Symptoms vary but often include pain, swelling, skin color or temperature changes, sensitivity to touch, and reduced movement or strength.
Active rehabilitation is the most effective treatment. At the Chronic Pain Centre, patients follow a personalized program led by physical, occupational, or kinesiotherapists. Short, frequent sessions throughout the day (about 90 minutes total) are recommended for best results.
Treatment may include graded motor imagery (e.g., Recognise app, mirror therapy), desensitization, movement exercises, weightbearing, and self-management techniques like massage.
