There are many different awards available to students.  Please search the Graduate Awards Database and speak to your supervisor to ensure you are not missing out on funding opportunities.

Awards Administered through Graduate Science Education

William H Davies Medical Research Scholarship

The 2017 competition of the William H Davies Medical Research Scholarship is available for application!

This year, we will be offering eight awards of $5,000.00 each.

 

Eligibility requirements:

-Open to students registered full-time in a graduate program in the Cumming School of Medicine

-Applicants cannot hold more than $3,000 in award funding (includes monetary awards, scholarships, studentships, etc.) for Fall 2017-Winter 2018 academic term.

-Successful candidates must contact their research program within the Cumming School of Medicine; others cannot be considered.

-Awards are made solely on the basis of academic excellence (e.g. GPA, awards and prizes, publications, and research)

-Applicants must have a GPA equal to or higher than 3.3 or B+ over the graduate courses taken to date

Cumming School of Medicine Graduate Scholarship Program

Application details about the October 2, 2017 competition will be made available in September 2017. 

Through a collaborative cost-sharing initiative, the CSM’s Graduate Science Education Office is aiming to recruit and fund 48 graduate students over the next four years. The CSM and the individual graduate supervisor will cost share a $30,000/year stipend for four years of a PhD program (two years for MSc). Funds will be renewed on an annual basis pending demonstration of sufficient progress and compliance with program requirements. Applications for the CSM Graduate Student Scholarship Program will be accepted annually in October, beginning October 2015.

Applications will be adjudicated by a committee within the CSM. Award administration will be conducted by the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
