Biography
Ainsley’s research focuses on using opportunistic computed tomography (CT) imaging to explore muscle loss and bone loss in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) or COVID-19. Ainsley’s thesis project is seeking to validate the use of a phantom-less calibration technique for muscle density analysis in opportunistic chest CT images. It also aims to investigate the risk factors and long-term health implications of muscle and bone loss for patients in the intensive care unit (ICU).
