Course Requirements
Learn about the requirements for the Medical Imaging Specialization.
The course requirements for the Medical Imaging Specialization will consist of a minimum of two graduate-level courses (for MSc students) and three graduate-level courses (for PhD students). Please note that these requirements are in addition to the requirements of a specific participating graduate program.
The Medical Imaging Specialization courses are:
- MSc and PhD students must take the following core course
- MDSC 689.01 - Medical Imaging Techniques (mandatory) - offered at The University of Calgary
- MSc and PhD students may take one (for MSc) or two (for PhD) of the following courses:
- MDSC 689.11 - Medical Imaging Applications and Analysis - offered at The University of Calgary
- ENEL 697 - Digital Image Processing - offered at The University of Calgary
- ENSF 619.03 (*New Course!) - Advanced Data Analytics - offered at The University of Calgary
- ENME 619.36 - Computer Measurement for BME - offered at The University of Calgary
- MDSC 689.02 - Advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging - offered at The University of Calgary
- MDSC 689.03 - Advanced Image Processing - offered at The University of Calgary
- MDSC 689.11 - Medical Imaging Applications and Analysis - offered at The University of Calgary
- MDSC 689.99 - Special Projects in Medical Imaging (with Grad Studies approval) - offered at The University of Calgary
- NEUR 5850 - Neuro-imaging Techniques- offered at The University of Lethbridge
With consent of the instructor, courses may also be available to suitably qualified final-year undergraduate students, Please note that many of these courses are team taught.
The Western Deans’ Agreement facilitates transfer for credit of courses between Calgary and Lethbridge. Some course may be offered by teleconference, as short courses, or other distance education methods.
