Flow Cytometry Core Facility

The Flow Cytometry Facility is a core resource operating within the Cumming School of Medicine’s Centre for Advanced Technologies. With an extensive range of state-of-the-art cytometers, and decades of flow cytometry experience, our team are well equipped to handle the vast majority of your flow cytometry requirements.

Following a short training session, researchers have the option to acquire their own samples on one of our Cytek Aurora [link to Instruments tab] spectral analyzers, our Thermo Fisher Attune NxT [link to Instruments tab] cytometers, or our Beckman Coulter Cytoflex [link to Instruments tab]. They can also sort their own cells using a Sony SH800 [link to Instruments tab] sorter or have a member of our team sort for them on our BD Aria III [link to Instruments tab] or Aria Fusion [link to Instruments tab]. Our aim is to assist investigators, staff and students, both within the University of Calgary and further afield, with their research. In addition to providing comprehensive and technically sophisticated cell analysis and sorting services, we are committed to providing training and education for all users, who are encouraged to discuss their ideas, needs and problems with our team.

Flow cytometry core services

We provide full-service data acquisition as well as training on instrument operation. Certified users have on-demand access to the ABI Attune Flow cytometers 24 hours, 7 days a week.
