Offload & Surrender
A panel discussion exploring the balance between cognitive offloading and cognitive surrender, the importance of keeping humans in the loop, what agency means in an AI-enabled world, and how we can thoughtfully engage with increasingly advanced AI systems.
12:00 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.
Lunch / Poster Presentations / AI Playground

Concurrent Breakout Workshops
Four rooms, four audiences, one instruction: build something. Each session is led by a working clinician, educator, or researcher who will show what they have actually built with the AI tools already available at the institution, then hand the room the same tools and the rest of the afternoon. Bring your own material — your protocols, your slides, your notes, your draft. You will leave with a working agent grounded in it. Rooms: Clinical practice · Classroom teaching · Bedside teaching · Research · (subject to change)
3:15 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Break
3:30 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.
Sovereignty & Equity
A two-part guided conversation exploring how AI agents challenge First Nations data governance principles. Using the OCAP® principles of ownership, control, access and possession as a starting point, we’ll examine how these principles apply when AI agents draw on multiple sources, make inferences and act autonomously. The discussion then broadens to consider the impact of deploying AI agents across health systems, including who benefits, who bears the risks, and who is accountable when things go wrong.
4:15 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
