PhD Students & Postdoctoral Fellows

The Image Science Division of the Department of Radiology at the University of Calgary, in partnership with the Hotchkiss Brain Institute, invites applications for PhD Students & Postdoctoral Fellow positions in Image Science. We seek highly motivated individuals interested in quantitative structural and functional MRI methods and applications. These positions are in the lab of Dr. Bruce Pike, the Campus Alberta Innovation Program Chair in Healthy Brain Aging.

Candidates should hold an undergraduate degree in the physical sciences or neuroscience and have a strong academic record to be eligible for the PhD program (in Biomedical Eng., Neuroscience, or Medical Science) or hold a PhD in MRI Physics, MR-guided focused ultrasound, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience or an associated program, with a track record of academic excellence and publications in neuroimaging to be eligible for a Postdoctoral Fellow position. The successful candidates will be located in lab space adjacent to other basic and clinical scientists conducting image science research focused upon stroke and other vascular diseases, epilepsy, cancer, human neurodevelopment, adult, child and youth mental health, movement disorders, and traumatic brain injury. The division has two 3T research dedicated human MR scanners, a newly launched MR-guided Focused Ultrasound program, a preclinical 9.4T MRI, and a large array of other imaging and brain stimulation equipment.

Funding will be guaranteed and salaries are very competitive.
