Looking back, what advice would you give yourself as a student?
Follow your interests and seize every interesting opportunity.
What is the best thing about your current job?
The options in public health are wide and varied - I currently work for a regional health authority, but there are also opportunities with provincial organizations (such as the BCCDC), provincial health, and federal organizations like PHAC.
How has your career evolved?
The pandemic definitely changed the profile of public health and put our skills to the test! I held the immunization portfolio from 2020-2022 and the toxic drug crisis portfolio from 2022-2024. Dynamic and evolving situations with many internal and external partners and many lives at stake!
How did your BHSc degree help you get to where you are now/current career?
