The BHSc program is not a pre-med program. Our focus is on building skills in research, critical thinking, academic writing, communication and teamwork in a multidisciplinary setting.

Our alumni are impacting the world in amazing ways. They become entrepreneurs, scholars or professionals. They work in the public, private and non-governmental sectors.

Professional degree pathways include:
Architecture, Dentistry, Law, Medicine, Optometry, Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine

Graduate School pathways include study in the areas of:

Biochemistry, Bioethics, Biomedical Technology, Cancer Biology, Clinical Drug Development, Computing Science, Genetic Counselling, Global Health, Engineering Sciences, Health Systems Management, Neuroscience, Pathologist's Assistant, Public Administration, Public Health, Public Policy, Social Work, Urban Planning, and many, many more.

All prospective students apply through the University of Calgary's Online Application.  Submission of a Supplementary Application is also required.

There are a very limited number of seats available for transfer admission into Year 2 of the BHSc program. Applicants must complete a minimum of eight half courses to be eligible to apply for transfer to the BHSc program. A minimum of four of those courses must be from the list of courses required for the major to which they are applying. The minimum GPA that will be considered is 3.3. Submission of a BHSc Supplementary Application will also be required.  Full details are available in the University of Calgary calendar here.
