What is your favorite BHSc memory?
My favorite BHSc memory is the bioinformatics block week course we took in second year. My class wore matching outfits every day of the week!

Looking back, what advice would you give yourself as a student?
I would tell myself to put less pressure on myself! Everything works out. Enjoy it.

What are you currently working on?
I am a graduate student at the University of Calgary studying immunology. I am studying the lung microbiome in intensive care unit patients, trying to understand what drives hospital-acquired pneumonia.

How did you choose your graduate program/supervisor?
My BHSc mentor introduced me to my graduate supervisor. I did a summer studentship in this lab and found that I loved the work and that the environment was really positive, so I came back for grad school.

What are your future plans?
I want to open my own research lab one day!

What is the best piece of advice you have received during your educational journey?
Take classes outside of your immediate degree stream. Variety is the spice of life.
