BHSc Mentorship Program
Mentoring the next generation of leaders
The mission of the BHSc Mentorship Program is to facilitate and enable positive mentor relationships between volunteer University of Calgary faculty members and interested BHSc students.
By providing students with a professional contact, the program gives them the opportunity to interact with seasoned professionals, to gain insight into their career path of interest, and to learn things they may not learn during the regular course of their academic career. A mentor’s time, wisdom, and experience are invaluable to this program.
A mentor MAY provide....
- Introductions to people who can help you achieve your goals
- Letters of recommendation
- Advice about networking in the university setting
- Insider's view of the university and career potentials
- Research opportunities
An online Student Registration link will be sent to all BHSc students in September.
Interested students will be matched with mentors based on broad research interests that are shared by both mentor and student.
Pairing of registered students with available mentors will begin in September.
If interested, please review the Student Guidelines at the link below, preferably BEFORE you sign up for the program.

It was simply mind-blowing to see the passion of community engaged research in our undergrad students Tobi and Salma. Also, their dedication to do something meaningful in the community and approach towards learning/preparing for research inspired me to be a better researcher, teacher, and mentor.
