Indigenous Ways
Indigenous health and education experts across the University have created a variety of programs, workshops, and resources to support faculty members in their efforts to incorporate Indigenous ways of knowing, being, doing, and connecting into their practice. These opportunities are brought to you by our colleagues in Indigenous Health, the Office of Indigenous Engagement, and other units, but many of the in-person offerings can be hosted at CSM by special request (with sufficient participant numbers).

CME Credits for OFD Activities
Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits can be earned through:
- College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) MAINPRO® program
- Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) MOC/CPD program
The CFPC recognizes three categories of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities:
- Certified Activities – Reviewed and approved by the CFPC, CFPC Chapters, or CACME-accredited Canadian university CPD offices.
- Certified Assessment Activities – Focused on self-assessment, simulation, or practice reviews.
- Non-Certified Activities – Meet CFPC’s CPD standards but are not formally reviewed.

The RCPSC CPD program supports specialist physicians with learning and practice improvement, organized into three sections:
- Section 1: Group Learning
Collaborative activities (in-person or virtual) with interactive discussion: Conferences, journal clubs, rounds, webinars, and workshops. - Section 2: Individual Learning
Self-directed activities, including: Content reviews, asynchronous courses, postgraduate studies, and task training. - Section 3: Feedback and Improvement
Activities focusing on feedback or improvement initiatives: Quality improvement (QI) projects, physician well-being, medical education, and equity initiatives.
