Black Youth Mentorship and Leadership Program

Welcome to the Black Youth Mentorship and Leadership Program, a unique, made in Alberta contribution to socially and economically empower Black Youth.

Program

This program is provided in partnership with the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta, and the Alberta Children's Hospital Research Institute and the O’Brien Institute for Public Health at the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary.

Applications

We are currently accepting applications for the Black Youth Mentorship and Leadership Program. The application deadline is Friday, May 5, 2023.

We encourage you to apply for the Black Youth Mentorship and Leadership Program. Applicants must:

  • Identify as a Black youth
  • In Grade 10 or 11 (Applicants in University are not eligible to be in the program)
  • Able to attend all days of the mentorship program, for 6 weeks, full time in the summer      
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or refugee claimant
  • Have parents’ consent to participate in the mentorship program
