About Us

Uniting amyloidosis clinical care, education, research and community engagement.

Program

Creating a brighter future for amyloidosis patients

The APC is a multidisciplinary program that brings together expertise from multiple specialties to deliver - and improve - integrated care for amyloidosis patients in the Calgary region. Our unique approach unites clinical care, medical education, research, and community engagement under one umbrella, helping us improve the lives of those affected by amyloidosis.

The impact of our efforts is evident in the work our members come together to do everyday. As care providers, we assess, diagnose, and treat amyloid patients from across southern Alberta and neighboring regions. As educators, we connect medical professionals and trainees to opportunities within academic and community settings. As researchers, we enable discoveries that ultimately result in better outcomes for patients. As supporters of the amyloid community, we foster dialogue, build awareness and develop resources that support patients and their families.

Areas of Focus

To achieve our mission, we strive to:

Provide integrated clinical care

for the multidisciplinary evaluation, treatment, and follow-up of amyloidosis.

Enable collaborative research

that advances how we detect, treat and understand amyloidosis.

Coordinate enhanced education

for medical professionals, trainees and patients to increase amyloidosis awareness and expertise.

Engage with our community

of care providers, medical professionals, patients, and families to raise awareness of amyloidosis, promote research opportunities, and provide access to support resources.

our team

Coordinated, connected, collaborative.

To offer better options and new hope to people living with amyloidosis, we look beyond what patient care, research and academic teams can do on their own to what we can do together.
