Graduate/Postdoctoral Programs
Graduate Science Education is a key component of our educational efforts. While the Department of Radiology does not have MSc or PhD training programs, a number of our faculty participate in programs in other departments and Faculties. In 2012, Dr. Richard Frayne and colleagues were awarded a Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) by NSERC to establish a multi-disciplinary graduate specialization in Medical Imaging (MEDI), now sponsored by the Department and led by Dr. Bradley Goodyear. The MEDI Specialization is offered within the Biomedical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Medical Sciences, Neuroscience, Psychology, and Physics and Astronomy graduate programs. More information on the MEDI Specialization can be found here. Faculty in the Department of Radiology also supervise post-doctoral research fellows.
Our ‘graduates' are now establishing themselves in successful careers in academia and industry in Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia. The majority of our research outputs (peer-reviewed papers, editorials, presentations at meetings) reflect the hard work of our trainees. Many of our trainees are supported through studentships and receive significant research awards.
