Ashley Harris holds a Canada Research Chair in Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy in Brain Injury. She develops magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy methods for clinical and neurosciences research. She is interested in using MR to investigate brain neurochemistry, the balance of inhibition and excitation, and how this relates function and structure. To meet this goal, she recognizes the need for methods development of MR spectroscopy to measure brain metabolites, specifically editing methods for metabolites such as GABA. She applies these methods to better understand development and developmental disorders, brain injury and chronic pain as well as potential therapies.
