Elvira Nurmambetova

Biography

Elvira is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Bioinformatics at the University of Calgary. Currently, she is working on a project with Dr. Joon Lee and Dr. Zahra Shakeri regarding social media analysis for public health surveillance. My primary interests include the applications of computing science techniques in health research, the Internet of Things, and the exploration of the intersection of technology platforms with foundational APIs. In her free time, she enjoys graphic design, playing tennis, and levelling up development skills at hackathons, technical boot camps, self-paced labs, and workshops.
