Prediabetes - Reducing your risk for diabetes

Prediabetes refers to blood sugar levels that are higher than normal, but not yet high enough to be diagnosed as type 2 diabetes. If you have prediabetes, there are lifestyle factors that can help to minimize your chances of having type 2 diabetes later.

  4. Attend the Alberta Healthy Living class "Prediabetes: Lower Your Risk of Type 2 Diabetes.' In the Calgary zone, this can be booked on-line or by phoning 403-943-2584. Outside of the Calgary zone call Health Link (811) for classes in your area.
  5. Register for the comprehensive online Canadian Diabetes Prevention Program by Diabetes Canada, LMC and others. It is online. There is no cost.
