Vision
To enhance health and medical education scholarship at the University of Calgary to become one of the top five units in Canada.
Mission
To capitalize on the high quality education programs and the cadre of excellent current and potential educational scholars, and provide support to bring these activities to a higher level.
Objectives
Improve the quality and type of existing health and medical education research, and encourage new research.
Provide support and resources to allow new investigators to engage in health and medical education scholarship.
Identify areas of overlap in health and medical education scholarship activities of different units within the Cumming School of Medicine, and encourage synergies.
Other specific assistance in the following areas:
- protocol writing and biostatistical expertise
- navigation of the internal review process
- journal writing skills
- seminars/workshops
- funding for research projects
- information technology expertise
- support for the new MSc graduates
