Year 1
The first year is comprised of courses at the Health Sciences Centre as well as some clinical observation placements within primary care centres and offices in both urban and rural settings, and some departments in tertiary care centres.

Additional Requirement
In the Fall term of Year 1 of the program, students will be required to successfully complete a medical terminology module on-line, which will be reflected as a Milestone on students’ transcripts. The module must be completed by the end of the Fall term in Year 1, for students to progress to the Winter term of Year 1.
Year 2
There are 10 clinical placements (4-6 weeks each) required for each student. These will take place in a variety of settings, including acute care teaching hospitals, ambulatory environments, community clinics, and throughout clinical settings in our distributed sites. The rotations are supplemented by the longitudinal Foundations of Practice course.
