INTRODUCTION

Inequities continue to exist in the workforce, including within academia, where higher-level positions are predominantly held by White Canadians, while Black Canadians are overrepresented in lower tiers. Additionally, Black individuals are significantly underrepresented in senior academic roles. To tackle child health disparities in Canada, it is essential to build and strengthen the capacity of Black researchers and those working with Black communities. The three-day Summer Institute will train and build the capacity of Black graduate students, early career researchers and researchers interested in Black child and youth well-being.
