Biography

Kellie has a diverse background that includes experience in public health, infectious disease, and genomics. Currently, she is working as a research assistant for Medlior Health Outcomes where she supports epidemiological real-world evidence projects. Before starting at Medlior, Kellie worked in various clinical support roles across Alberta Health Services including supervised consumptions sites, HIV public health clinics, and inpatient acute care.

Kellie’s health data research includes working with the U of C’s AMR One Health Consortium in Dr. Niu’s lab where she is using biostatistics and machine learning techniques to develop gene co-occurrence networks and to predict bacteriophage host-range. She is hoping to use her MDSA to find employment in bioinformatics and computational biology in the field of pharmaceutical R&D or antimicrobial resistance/phage therapy.
