Biography

During my undergrad degree, I concentrated my studies in microbiology and human physiology. Following this degree, I became a microbiologist in an environmental consulting setting where I further exercised my knowledge in this topic. I plan to use my expertise in biology together with my experience in data science to further our understanding of healthcare.

My experience in data science lies in utilizing python, R and SQL for data collection (NLP), wrangling, cleaning, and exploratory analysis. I use R for statistical modelling in a wide range of models depending on the nature of the data. I have used python for machine learning methods such as hyperparameter tuning, feature selection, evaluation, validation, and predictive forecasting. I have experience using tableau for data visualization, along with R and python. My next project will be studying which aspects of the patient experience and patient information affects overall monetary cost on the healthcare system. Identifying features that relate to high costs can help healthcare officials reduce these effects on the healthcare system. I also excel in communication, leadership, and creativity that I use to accomplish the current tasks at hand. I am excited for my future career in data science and the challenges that it will bring.
