Biography

Danielle’s focus has been on “methods” in Health Research.  She has been at the University since 2001 and have been working with APPROACH clinical data as well as administrative databases (DAD, ACCS, etc).

She has expertise regarding database management & analysis, particularly in regards to APPROACH (as Data Scientist) and through her prior role as Associate Director of the Alberta SPOR Methods and Development Unit. Her 120+ publications have focused on the methodology for collection and analyzing data.

Currently, she performs statistical research and analysis related to many aspects within the Centre for Health Informatics and with several other research groups (APPROACH, W21C, Drs. William Ghali/Hude Quan). Danielle also supports the CHI Research Services team as the methods and analytics technical lead and is often part of consultations, analytic plan development, and overseeing analyses.

In her role as Associate Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre at the University of Calgary, she manages the many projects related to classification, terminologies and standards of the WHO family of classifications. If you have any questions related to ICD, please ask Danielle!

If that wasn’t enough, she has also been managing the data exhibits for the CHI Covid-19 Tracker.

In her free time, Danielle enjoys camping with the family, reading (she’s our resident book club leader) and crafting (if you can name it, she has probably tried it out).
