Biography

Rachel is a biostatistician at the Centre for Health Informatics, an Alberta Real-World Evidence Consortium team member, and a sessional instructor for DATA624 - Advanced Exploration and Visualization in Health. With thorough training in medicine (Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, Viet Nam), psychology (University of Saskatchewan, Canada), and data science and analytics (University of Calgary, Canada), Rachel focuses on utilizing biostatistical methods to address intricate healthcare research questions. Her diverse background facilitates robust collaborations with researchers from various disciplines and institutes, harnessing Alberta's administrative (DAD, NACRS, etc.) and Ontario's GEMINI databases.

In recent years, Rachel has applied her expertise in data analysis and visualization, cost analysis, and matched analysis to various project topics, such as sleep-disordered breathing, chronic migraine, sepsis, transfusion, and COPD. Besides refining her proficiency in programming languages (R, Python, SAS, and MySQL), Rachel is deeply interested in dogs, tennis, travelling, cooking, and crafting.
