Welcome to the Patient Resources section of our website, designed to provide patients and caregivers with evidence-based, up-to-date information on treating and managing rheumatic conditions. Below you'll find information on various conditions and diseases, treatments, therapies and answers to commonly asked questions.

Common questions and answers

A rheumatologist is a medical doctor who is qualified as a specialist through additional training  in the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory diseases of the joints, muscles, connective tissue and bones.

Rheumatologists treat a variety of conditions, including arthritis, vasculitis, tendonitis and more. Your doctor may refer you to a rheumatologist if you're experiencing certain symptoms or pain in the joints, muscles, or bones.

To see a rheumatologist, you must receive a referral from your family doctor or physician.

Visit the Knowledge Library section of our website to access resources to help you better understand various rheumatic diseases and the treatments used to manage them.

If you're a patient who has recently been diagnosed with a rheumatic disorder, our "It's a Joint Effort" online education program can help you understand and live with your condition.
