Gastroparesis Study
Research Study for Ideopathic and Diabetic Gastroparesis Patients in Calgary - Recruitment Complete
We are inviting adults living in the Calgary area who have Gastroparesis, either Ideopathic or Diabetic (Type 1 or 2 Diabetes) to participate in a clinical trial taking place at the Foothills Campus of the University of Calgary. This investigational study compares a medication that is currently approved by Health Canada (for treatment of a condition other than gastroparesis) to placebo. This study medication is a prokinetic which helps move food and waste through the gut. The study has two phases. Each patient will receive the study medication and the placebo during the study. Gastric emptying time will be assessed at the end of each treatment period using a 4 hour Gastric Emptying Scintigraphy Test.
