Patient Engagement

PaCER for Stroke

QuICR has partnered with PaCER (Patient and Community Engagement Researchers).  We had interested stroke patients participate in PaCER's internship program, where they will be trained to design and conduct health experience research to better understand the patient experience in First Few Days of Stroke.

We had 1 stroke patient and 2 patients recently complete the PaCER Internship: Brendan Murphy, Donna Sharman, and Laurel Ryan pictured above.

Follow-up Activities

QuICR received a CIHR/SPOR Patient Engagement grant to support the PaCER activity and to share the research findings with decision makers.  As part of this effort, we held a dinner meeting with our Stroke PaCER graduates, their stroke research participants, and decision-makers to learn about the findings and to develop next steps.
