“It takes a village to raise a child” and we believe that it also takes a “community to care for families affected by epilepsy”.

We have therefore partnered with other specialities and organizations to provide support.

We are incredibly grateful to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation for their generous support of our program. Without ACHF and the donation received by the community, we are able to provide new and innovative programming and treatments for our patients.

The Alberta Children’s Epilepsy Program is part of the Section of Pediatric Neurology at Alberta Children’s Hospital. Everyone in this section takes care of children with seizures. Some members are specialized in treatment of epilepsies.

ACEP is part of the Calgary Epilepsy Program, which also includes the adult epilepsy services located at Foothills Medical Centre and South Health Campus.

We are working closely with the Epilepsy Association of Calgary. The association offers support, teaching and counselling for families affected by epilepsy.

We always strive to learn more about epilepsy and discover new ways to diagnose, treat and support children with epilepsy. Research is in integral part of our daily work.

Our team of researchers are members of the Alberta Children’s Research Institute and the Hotchkiss Brain Institute.
