Career Development Weeks Availability Form

Academic Year 2026-27

Career Development Weeks Availability

The Distributed Learning & Rural Initiatives (DLRI) office is now gathering “pre-set” preceptor availability for Pre-Clerkship Career Development Weeks for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Pre-clerkship students from either the CSM UCalgary Calgary campus or the Lethbridge SAMP campus may complete Career Development Weeks in rural and regional communities. These experiences are one week in length and provide early exposure to clinical learning environments, helping students explore career interests and build connections with rural and regional practice.

DLRI is aligning with the new UME process and follows the timelines and protocols outlined by the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC) Portal.

We are requesting that preceptors share their anticipated availability in advance through this web form. While we understand that confirming availability ahead of time can be challenging, the new process requires elective availability to be submitted in advance to showcase learning opportunities across the province. You will be contacted with confirmation once a learner is assigned to you.

Please complete the form below to indicate your availability for the upcoming academic year.

Thank you for your meaningful contributions to medical education and your continued support of rural and regional medical students.
